Plastic artist, painter and engraver, Carla Petrini was born in São Paulo in 1963, where she lives and works.
Completed the Bachelor of Fine Arts course with a specialization in Engraving and Painting at Faculdade Santa Marcelina (FASM) in 1985 and Post-Graduation in Watercolor Painting at the same institution in 1998.
Since 1988 he has dedicated himself to teaching watercolor, acrylic and metal engraving painting, both in regular courses in his studio and in other spaces.
She develops her printmaking and painting works with a theme focused mainly on a vibrant identification with the rather expressionist landscapes – not bucolic, but disturbing – where she releases her angels and demons in infinite open spaces and sweeping skies. The horizon line is placed at the foot of the composition, where the sky is the protagonist of colors and shapes.
The chromatic sensitivity and dramatic sense of the landscape are revealed by an exalted feeling of passion for this spiritual dimension of nature, the catalyst for sensitivity. Starting point, but never ending point.
In addition to individual exhibitions, he has been actively participating in several collectives in Brazil and abroad since 1981.
His works can be found in several private collections, in addition to the collections of the Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP), Museum of Modern Art (MAM), Government Palace of the State of São Paulo, House of Engraving of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba, Banco Safra, Banespa, SESC, Círculo Italiano, Pinacoteca of the Cristiano Varella Foundation, Muriaé, MG and Museo Internazionale dell'Acquarello, Fabriano, Italy.
